In developing the Holy Trinity Website, we understood that some of our readers may have problems with their sight. Our goal was to ensure that the text on the site could be easily scaled larger to accommodate those users. What this means is that we haven't completely taken control of the fonts and sizes on the site. That way, the user can customize the site's text to meet their needs. This is known as making a site accessible.
Various different Internet browsers have different ways of changing the font size and type. This article will explain how to make these changes for the most common browser used today, Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE). It should be noted that the site was not designed to be IE specific, and these techniques should work for any browser you use. However, the methods for changing the font you use for viewing and the scale of that font may differ.
Changing The Font Size
First, a demonstration of how to change the size of the font as it appears on the page. Using an IE browser, select View > Text Size from the tool bar at the top of the page. There will be a dot next to your current Text Size setting. To increase the font size, simply click on the next larger font size, or to decrease the font size, click on the next smaller font size.

Due to the way that Internet Explorer displays the page, you may see the following happen when you change the font size:

See how the “Welcome To Holy Trinity“ text is hovering over the Login/Register box? This is due to the page layout, and will be fixed if you just click the page “Refresh“ button on the tool-bar. (The piece of paper with two arrows). If you go to another page on the site, this will also be resolved when that page loads.
Changing the Font Type
Some readers prefer the clean lines of a Sans-Serif font. While others find a Serif font easier to read. Unlike many websites, we have given you, the user, the ability to control what font is used on our pages. Our site simply uses the default font from your browser. That way, you are free to make changes and see whatever font you'd like. It is relatively easy to change as the following example will show.
First, select Tools > Internet Options from the main menu bar:

Then on the options page, click the Fonts... Button at the bottom of the Options box.

Then in the Fonts box that appears, change the font in the left box (Web page font) to whatever font you want the page to use.

Click OK on this box, and OK on the Internet Options box, and the site will redraw using your selected font. This will change your default IE font for all the pages that you view.
